The put down

So your sister got you that shirt that looked so awesome at the store. You try it on and you love it! She is so happy when he sees that you are wearing it to school the next day. But little dose she know how terrified you are of what people are going to think because It's a little different.

You walk into school palms are soaking.. then you are bombarded with "What is that? Why/where did you get that? hahahahahaha! oh that looks interesting..."

You come home in disbelief thinking "What a stupid shirt, how could I have ever thought this was cool?!" As you rip it off you're not thinking about what your sister might think. So a week then a month go by and when she asks you "why don't you ever wear that shirt I got you" you make up a stupid excuse and she drops alittle... She is hurt and you never get to see that happiness in her face like first day again.

You weep, you weep because the last thing you wanted to do was make her sad, but you can't stand the torment again like that first day, so you just hide it away.

...True story from my Jr high years...

  1. You should'ne care what people think about you. If you like the shirt wear it! Own it, be prod of it. People will see how confident you are in it and respect you for it. This coming from the girl who wears clothes from thrift shops :)

  2. This was back in the day when everyone cared what others thought and everyone for the most part was very immature so I am no longer this sort of kid. But still great advise.
